On the final day of Massachusetts Boys State, part On the final day of Massachusetts Boys State, participants attend a college fair and speak to admissions counselors about their own futures. Colleges are certainly eager to meet our participants. With final announcements and checking out of dorms to follow, Boys Staters depart from one another as friends when they were just strangers seven days ago. And with the conclusion of the program, participants join the ranks of our program alumni who will go out and be leaders in their communities, their professions, and our nation. Do you still stay in touch with your friends from Massachusetts Boys State?

Can you help support our mission to have an impact on the leaders of tomorrow? Please make a donation to our Massachusetts Boys State & Girls State Foundation. Your contribution is an investment that will pay dividends long after the annual Friday conclusion of our program.

Massachusetts Boys State isn’t just learning and Massachusetts Boys State isn’t just learning and campaigning; there’s plenty of fun to be had as well. Throughout the week, Boys Staters play against one another in various athletic events from flag-football to soccer and softball to basketball. Athletics gives participants a chance to meet people outside of their own city or town and to compete away from the podium and elections. The best flag-football teams and softball teams compete against our staff of blue shirts on Thursday afternoon for bragging rights. These games are for the pure fun of sport, but the blue shirts have never lost their athletic competitions in the history of our program.

There’s many ways to support the health and education of our participants. We ask that you make a donation to our Massachusetts Boys State & Girls State Foundation to continue our missions of education and our friendly competitions in our youth today.

Votes are counted one last time and winners are an Votes are counted one last time and winners are announced: we have a state government! After classes and meetings, Boys Staters dress up for inauguration night. We celebrate our new constitutional officers, administer the oath of office, and hear from our outstanding band and chorus in celebration. And like every inauguration, there is plenty of dancing and celebration that follows. For all of the hard work, it’s a fun way to reflect on what’s been accomplished and all that lies ahead.

There’s much to be celebrated at Massachusetts Boys State and Girls State in seventy six years of living our education. If you’d like to be a benefactor and help this program grow in the future, please consider donating to the Massachusetts Boys State & Girls State Foundation.

As the excitement grows and campaigns become more As the excitement grows and campaigns become more defined, candidates for constitutional office get one last chance to make an impression on their peers before they hit the polls on Wednesday morning. Our candidates forum provides each party to share their platforms and allows each candidate to make their speeches to all participants at Boys State. Our nominees for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and US Senator are put on the spot and answer challenging questions regarding issues all Boys Staters are familiar with.

Massachusetts Boys State and Girls State provides each participant the space to share their talents and become leaders. While we are living through challenging times, the next chapters of our community’s histories are being written now through our programs. Please consider making a donation to the Massachusetts Boys State & Girls State Foundation and help to make our collective future brighter for all.

While debates are underway at party conventions, Boys Staters go to the polls to elect the next round of candidates to represent them in state-wide constitutional offices. Party convention attendees hear great ideas, impassioned speeches, and the visions of their peers, but there can only be one that wins each position at our inauguration. Did you win a constitutional office at Massachusetts Boys State?

At Massachusetts Boys State and Girls State, we’re dedicated to giving the leaders of tomorrow as much real experience as we can. If you’re interested in helping us achieve this goal, please consider making a donation to the Massachusetts Boys State & Girls State Foundation.
Sunday at Massachusetts Boys State is Department o Sunday at Massachusetts Boys State is Department of Massachusetts Day where we recognize American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary leaders who make our program possible. June 14th is also Flag Day in the United States where we celebrate our national emblem and the virtues for which it stands: courage, liberty, and loyalty. In our seventy-six year history, we’re privileged to be joined by Past National Commanders, Past National Vice Commanders, and even the National Commander of the American Legion. But most important are the Legionnaires from Legion Posts across Massachusetts that help participants learn the responsibilities of citizenship. Happy Flag Day, everyone!

We are all called to serve in whatever way we can, and we are grateful to the American Legion Department of Massachusetts for their service to our nation. You too can be a steward of this timeless program and contribute to our mission by making a donation to the Massachusetts Boys State & Girls State Foundation. The civic foundation that our programs provide is essential to the future of our communities, but it can’t be done without your help.
For over 75 years, Massachusetts Boys State has be For over 75 years, Massachusetts Boys State has been dedicated to teaching the youth of today and leaders of tomorrow about the important responsibilities they’re about to inherit. The importance of voting and participating in all levels of government, the value of public debate and discussion, and how to use our talents and experiences to sway those around us. These are responsibilities incumbent on all of us, and we work tirelessly to provide a space that encourages these in Boys Staters each year. We need your support to continue that mission.
