For more than 65 years, the American Legion Department of Massachusetts, with the assistance of many others, has produced Boys State. We look to continue in a long tradition of success in June 2010. American Legion Boys State programs throughout the country have produced a United States president, senators, congressmen, governors, and leaders of business and industry throughout our nation. Coupled with academic acheivement, Boys State can be an attractive component to a dynamic student profile. But more importantly, for many Boys State citizens, the lessons learned at Boys State serve as the first glimpse of issues they will face on a much grander scale as they grow as citizens. On behalf of the Boys State Committee and the Department, I invite you to take a take a look inside and see what Boys State is all about. Read through our website and our Blog. Leaf through photos and videos from the 2008 program. Ask questions of former Boys Staters on our Forum. Take full advantage of all of the resources we have provided for you on this site, and find out what Boys State can offer you. I look forward to seeing you at Boys State 2010. Yours sincerely, Mark Avis, Chairman |
